LPG or electric forklift?
How to choose between LPG, electric and diesel trucks for your site.
Electric forklifts are quiet, produce no exhaust and cost less to run, which makes them the usual choice for indoor warehouses. Battery charging needs planning: allow for a charging area and, on multi-shift sites, a spare battery or lithium-ion fast charging.
LPG trucks refuel in minutes and work well indoors and out, but produce exhaust, so ventilation matters. They suit mixed yards and sites without charging space.
Diesel trucks are best for heavy, outdoor work on rough ground. They are not suitable for enclosed spaces.
When you request quotes, tell us where the truck works, how many hours a day, and the heaviest load. Suppliers can then recommend the right fuel.
Common questions
Are electric forklifts cheaper to run?
Usually yes. Energy and maintenance costs are lower, although the purchase price can be higher.
Can LPG forklifts be used indoors?
Yes, with good ventilation. Electric is preferred in food areas and poorly ventilated buildings.
