Common questions
How often should racking be inspected?
HSE guidance says racking should be inspected by a technically competent person at least once every 12 months, with more frequent in-house checks.
What happens after an inspection?
You get a written report that grades any damage by risk, usually with a red, amber and green system, and says what needs to be offloaded or repaired.
Can the inspector carry out repairs?
Many inspection companies also supply replacement parts and carry out repairs. Mention it in your enquiry if you want both quoted.
